Abstract

Today’s Technology has become more capable and more complex, this is especially true for mobile devices. The popularity of these devices is due to the ability to do a verity of tasks from almost anywhere, this includes accessing the Web; however the User Interfaces (UIs) for mobile browsing has been slow to catch up. Most websites today are constructed to be accessed from your home laptop or desktop (which a generally have a screen size of 11 to 14 inches) and not optimized for the small screens or user interfaces of mobile devices such as the smart phones or tablets. Many large companies have websites designed from the ground up to allow for mobile optimization, but small companies and other web designers do not have the technical “know how” to construct this type of technical website. To solve this problem I have constructed a plugin using wordpress that can be easily uploaded to a websites server. This Plugin provides a admin panel so web designers can edit the look and feel of their mobile website, and an assortment of PHP files that handle the detection of mobile devices in order to redirect browsers to the mobile page constructed by the plugin.
